Alright, I know that I have been commenting to many that I would get online and actually do something with this blogspot, so here is my inagurual blogging experience. I hope that we can actually spend some time on this to keep everyone updated.
In a nutshell, I'm on my third trip in the month I've been here. The first two were to Cairo, and this one is of course, Paris. Even now, I'm sitting here on the balcony of my hotel, looking down into the Champs Elysses. It's some famous street, but not sure why. Perhaps just because it's French. There is defintely a feel to France, perhaps a romantic one, but it's something. The Parisans are not the nicest of hosts, they don't seem to smile much, and they don't want to speak English. Our taxi driver yesterday didnt' say two words to us the entire drive from the airport, which was about an hour.
We drove past the Arc de Triumph, which was built by Napoleon (at least started) and that was pretty incredible. Then came to the Hotel California, seriously. I need to get a picture of it, but the streets are so narrow, I'm not sure the one I get will do it justice.
Today and tomorrow are meetings, but I'll get back on and plug some pictures in probably tomorrow night.
I set up an account on www.flikr.com so you can go and look at my pictures (my sign in is rptacman). I think anyone can view them. These include pictures from the villa we are renting as well as pictures from Iftar (evening meal during Ramadan) in Cairo, and other places.
I think I"ll post all my pictures there, so keep looking.
Alright, stay posted for more updates.
