We are having quite a chilly winter. Now I understand that it is nothing compared to the snowstorms that the US is experiencing. But for this region we are really getting a winter-like experience. About a week before Christmas the temperature dropped and became quite chilly. Normally I would think that is nice for Christmas and all. It should be cold for Christmas in my opinion. But the problem is we expected our things to arrive here in Kuwait the last part of November, just as the cold season was starting. We are having our warmer clothes shipped so we only have summer-like clothes and light jackets with us. We’re making due and are grateful that we have what we’ve got and can get more if needed. The cold season here is so short that most places are built without heaters—our villa included. We have a radiator type heater that is helping but we’re anxious for our sweaters and heavier clothes to arrive. We’ll probably get them just as soon as the weather starts taking a turn and warming back up again. We hear this is the coldest weather Kuwait has seen since the early 90’s. Maybe you heard that Baghdad (close enough to be considered in our region but really moms and dads, it’s way far far away and we’re nowhere close to a place like that) got its first snowfall in over 100 years.
