Sorry for the finger in some of the pics. One of these days I'll take the time to figure out photo shop.
All baptisms are amazing but there is something to be said for being baptized in a body of water like the Persian Gulf. Cricket was so brave. She's been worried for a few weeks about having to go into the Gulf to be baptized. She was wanting to find a calm swimming pool instead. After talking it through with her she decided she would try it. As we approached the water I was sure she would turn around and refuse to go in. The currents and wind were strong that day. She toughed it out though. You can sort of see a cement dock in the pics. They walked out to the end of this and Todd braced himself up against it to steady himself so he wouldn't be swept under. If you wanted your feet to stay dry from currents washing up onto the dock, you had to stand back. I got my feet wet so I could hear what was happening. She had to go under twice because the first time her head didn't go completely under.
The man in the pics with his pants pulled up is our Branch President. He was one of the witnesses. The branch was very supportive.
We started the morning off meeting at the church at 8:00 a.m. We had a song, prayer, and Calvin gave a talk on baptism. Then we drove to the Gulf for the ordinance. Not many people are out at that time of day so it was pretty private and quiet. There were a handful of people there at the beach I'm sure wondering what we were doing with two people dressed all in white and all the others in church dress. After the baptism we drove back to the church. Clara gave a talk on the Holy Ghost then Todd confirmed Cricket. We closed the program with another song and prayer. Then we went to the basement of the church and had a breakfast of juice, breads, and fruits. It was a great event.

Hi Emma, I was scared when I was going to be baptized also. I am glad that you were baptized. I am sad that I could not be there.
Love Mary
Emma,
That's cool that you got to be baptized in the Persian Gulf! You have to be pretty brave to do that. It will be a neat story you can tell people for the rest of your life!

Dear Catherine,
I got on this morning to update and saw your comment and dashed over here and was so excited to see your post! What a wonderful experience! Cricket, I have never known anyone that gave their flesh and blood (even if it was just on your foot) to be baptized! Give yourself a very big hug from me and know proud I am of you for being so brave! And, Catherine, give yourself a big hug from me too...you're not short on bravery yourself! I miss you all!!! With love, Sandy
