NEW BLOG!

Now that we've left Egypt, I feel a need to record what we did there so when we look back on our time we'll remember it wasn't all homeschool and sleeping. I'll continue to post to this blog until I catch up to the time we left Cairo in June 2010. Our new blog will pick up from that time forward.

Pics I've meant to post

Lounging by the pool in Cairo

Petey and Critter posing on some Roman ruins here in Amman

The Citadel in Amman. This is the Temple of Hercules.

Petey taking a mud bath at the Dead Sea.

Mt. Nebo

Todd's trip to Kenya

This is a picture taken just down the hill from where we live. There are some bedouins and their herds living near here. You can see the bedouin on the left in the picture. I've had to stop several times to wait for herds to cross the road--I just happen to have my camera with me on this day.

Clara does preschool with the little ones as part of a Young Women project. Nic got her first three smiley faces so was rewarded with a party with the foot spa.

Someone left their breakfast cereal on the table right where T could reach it. He pulled it down and finished it off.

Kid's first days of school

We got this cake for Batman's birthday just a couple days
after we arrived here. I couldn't bake one because we weren't fully unpacked so we bought one. In Kuwait we never did find a really good tasting cake and were apprehensive about finding one here in Jordan. Todd asked around at work for suggestions and several recommended a certain bakery. One of his coworkers called the bakery to order the cake and when Todd picked it up, this is what it looked like. The coworker wasn't sure who it was for so it was supposed to say "Happy Birthday Cummings." Between poor English and accents it turned out to say "Happy Birthday Gumminjc" It was no Costco cake but it was good anyway.

That is too funny! "Happy Birthday Cummingjc" I hope at least it was edible? Boy, the kids just keep growing! Wow, what a darling family! Will number 8 be born in Jordan, how special is that? No pressure, guys, You may already have your whole family here. I know how that is- but still, how cool to tell people, "yeah, I was born .. in Jordan..."
