NEW BLOG!

Now that we've left Egypt, I feel a need to record what we did there so when we look back on our time we'll remember it wasn't all homeschool and sleeping. I'll continue to post to this blog until I catch up to the time we left Cairo in June 2010. Our new blog will pick up from that time forward.

I officially have "a day"

Some background:

Two teenage boys in our branch (Jeremy and Jared Lance) take piano lessons from the same teacher my kids take from. Critter is friendly with them. They're all in Young Men's together. They are all in the same scout troop. Critter spent almost an entire Saturday at their house a couple weeks ago "hanging out." Here was the basic conversation I had with Petey and Critter as I drove them to their piano lessons earlier today.

Me: When do the Lance boys have their piano lessons?

Them (in horrified voices): MOM!!!!

Me: What? What did I say?

Them: We don't know when they have their lessons!

Me: You've never asked them?

Petey: That would be nerdy!

Me: It's nerdy to ask them when they have their piano lessons?

Critter: YES, Mom. Maybe back in "your day" it was ok to ask something like that but not anymore!

Who knew?

That is hilarious. I can't believe they have a problem with asking when lessons are. It seems like yesterday that I was the kid having lessons. I guess it would seem forward to ask something like that when you were a kid. There are great benefits to being a grown up, like not being worried about asking people when their lessons are.
