Here's a video and some pictures of things along the way to the border. The video and next two pictures are a herd of camels. We have no idea where they came from or where they were going but it looked as though there was nothing for miles around except desert.
This picture is what looks to be a bombed out building left from the Gulf War--at least Todd assumed that's what it is. This was the only seemingly obvious remnant of the war as they've cleaned up most of the destruction at least along this route.
The trip was uneventful--unless you count the time that Nic started shaking and squirming in the back because she had to use the bathroom. Of course there was nothing for miles so we decided we'd have to pull along side the road and let her out to go. We'd told her that as soon as the car stopped she could jump out and go. She took that literally. We forgot to mention the step of pulling down her pants first. Fortunately we had an extra pair of undies in the car. We were taking care of business when out of nowhere a police/security SUV pulled up and told us we couldn't stop along the road. Todd explained in both English and Arabic that we were changing a diaper but they didn't seem to understand. Then I remembered the little quirky thing here is that you don't call it changing a diaper. You call it "changing the Pampers." But we weren't arrested and we were soon on our way again.
