NEW BLOG!

Now that we've left Egypt, I feel a need to record what we did there so when we look back on our time we'll remember it wasn't all homeschool and sleeping. I'll continue to post to this blog until I catch up to the time we left Cairo in June 2010. Our new blog will pick up from that time forward.

These are 3 pictures of my most favorite place that I saw. This is the Notre Dame Cathedral and I thought it was fabulous. For me it had a reverence about it--dare I say "Spirit?" Every few feet inside was another place you could pay to get a candle to light. They had a couple of confessions rooms. One of these is a picture of the sign for when you could confess. There were people waiting to get in to talk to a priest. Inside was beautiful yet somewhat dark meaning it wasn't brightly lit. But it really did have a reverence to it. Is that possible? The other picture is the sign outside. I took this mostly for Emma P. There were a few things translated from French to English that seemed to not quite have the same meaning. I thought of her (and she'll know why) and then I thought "why am I not taking pictures of these?" But then of course this was the last sign I noticed and it wasn't event the best one.

I did get to see Todd a little bit. In the evenings we went to dinner. On the last day we rode the subway to get back to the airport. It was like a little city underneath the big city with stores and such. Always a place for people to spend some money.
